Origin: a Latin derivative
meaning "Gift of the Earth."
Sharing her love and passion for essential oils and working full time on her doTERRA business with her 7 year old son right by her side, Dom loves to be included in the workshops, classes and videos. Their combined passion and love for doTERRA has grown strong in the short time they have been actively sharing and building their business.
Claire’s doTERRA journey began when she was first introduced to doTERRA by her friend and now Blue Diamond Leader Dr. Martha Nessler. Her first purchase was a Family Essentials Kit. Claire remembers that at the time she bought the kit she did not understand how the essential oils actually worked, even though Martha explained it to her. Claire said, “Initially my thoughts about essential oils were skeptical and as I wasn’t convinced, I didn’t take in all this new information.”
Claire adds, “When the oils arrived I did take them out their box and line them up on my bathroom shelf - but there they stayed, unopened, for over a year! Finally through a bad experience I came around to using some On Guard and Easy Air with my then 5 year old son Dom. He responded well to them, but I was still so closed minded that I assumed the positive effect was mostly from the ‘nice smell’ that took his mind off things. Fast forward a month and through using the oils I’d come to appreciate they really were helping him a lot.”
Even as Claire was witnessing the benefits of using doTERRA essentials oils for herself and her son, she was just beginning to learn more about the business structure and financial side of creating a doTERRA business. Claire said, “It was about this time I got to listening to Alice Nicholls’ All Rise Up podcast and this really awoke me to the business opportunity. Following this I went along to a doTERRA mentoring event and I remember stating clearly when asked about my “Why” that the reason I was interested in the oils was for the financial side. I’d recently separated from my husband and left my 15 year career as a corporate lawyer and was attempting to make money out of my passion - “Dom’s Kitchen” - a blog focused on kids healthy eating that I’d set up when working as a lawyer. Needless to say I was not feeling at all secure financially at the time and so the ability to generate income was top of my mind.”
Claire started her blog Dom's Kitchen to share healthy, easy paleo recipes for kids but this soon grew into a social media platform with huge reach that she used to highlight hypocrisy in the food industry.
Over the course of the next few months it’s safe to say Dom and Claire caught the doTERRA bug big time. Claire said “First there was experience after experience with the oils hugely supporting us both emotionally and physically. I researched and researched and the more I learnt about the company and its owners the more I was hooked.”
15 months after buying that first kit from Martha and being inactive for most of that time she finally held her first class. Now after doing doTERRA as a business for over a year she has come to realise that although she loves sharing the oils to empower other mothers to be healers in their own homes, her deepest WHY stems from her passion to educate, empower and inspire mothers to be change-makers, truth-seekers and fearless disruptors of the status quo in respect to their wellbeing and that of their family. Claire said, “I know this is my forever company" as Alice Nicholls says.
Every day she receives notifications from her customers, friends and family sharing with her how much the oils have helped them and their families. “My biggest learning and insight into the products has been coming to appreciate just how well they work. I love learning about the sourcing of the oils, the company itself and the community that has been created. The incredible quality, purity and the co-impact initiatives alongside the Healing Hands Foundation. I am inspired by doTERRA and the Founders values and vision for us as Wellness Advocates and for doTERRA on the global stage. It is such a privilege to be a part of this culture.”
In reaching Platinum, Claire advises her number one key for helping to reach this rank is absolute and unwavering self-belief. She has always invested a lot of time in self-development and considers doTERRA a match made in heaven for her, given the focus and energy doTERRA places on personal development. “As everyone knows, you don’t get to the higher leadership ranks on your own. There are so many people that support me and our team from uplines and crosslines and of course the wonderful people at doTERRA Corporate.”
Claire shares the impact her son Dom has on her doTERRA business. “For me personally a big part of our team being where it is today comes down to my son Dom who has just turned 7. He is my underlying ‘Why’ and the reason for my involvement in doTERRA. In addition, he has been an awesome little sidekick on this journey. He did all of my Diamond Club travel with me. He made samples for classes and samples for Spoil Yourself Events - sometimes a little too late into the night! Dom’s been out there sampling in the airport lounges and chatting to everyone’s children about oils. He is constantly keeping me on my toes and holding me accountable “How many people did you enrol today Mum?” He’s also my biggest cheerleader “We are Presidential Diamond” is his constant mantra that he’ll be shouting out as I get ready for another class.”
Claire shares her top insights and tips for other Wellness Advocates starting out, on how to maximise and grow their doTERRA Business.
Claire says, “When I decide to do something, I will do it. But sure enough there are those days were motivation is less and when I feel like quitting for one reason or another. And then I think, as they say ‘you can quit on a good day, not a bad day’ - and before I know it, it’s another great day. I recommend journalling daily in the morning. I journal what I am grateful for having received and for that which I’m grateful to be receiving as though it is a done deal. I also recommend doing “I Am’s” or some other combination of manifestation and physical movement. I also love making up vision boards to support my WHY and Goals.”
On Guard, Copaiba and Rose are Claire and Dom’s most used and loved oils. “We use On Guard in the morning when we wake up to apply on soles of our feet, diluted with Fractionated Coconut oil. We put it in the diffuser in the morning with Wild Orange during the day. I use it during the day in household homemade cleaners to wipe down bench tops. We also use all the On Guard cleaning products and diffuse it in the evenings. Copaiba is my other favourite product - I love so much how this oil is so versatile and supports so many of our customers in so many different ways. For me it supports my emotional wellbeing.”
