Emma Lawler is a doTERRA Diamond Leader from Wellington, New Zealand. Three years ago she was introduced to doTERRA through a class she attended. “I went to my first class for the lunch. I had absolutely no interest in essential oils and was determined not to be talked into purchasing any. By the end of the class I had placed an order for a Family Essentials Kit, Lavender Peace® Restful Blend, Cheer® Uplifting Blend and Fractionated Coconut Oil. At the time I was grieving a loved one and I simply loved how a blend that was made for me consisting of Lavender Peace® Restful Blend, Cheer® Uplifting Blend, Frankincense essential oil and Fractionated Coconut Oil gave me a sense of calm and helped me feel less tearful. I have now lost count of how many roller bottles of this beautiful blend I have shared”.
Emma’s biggest learning and insight into the products is the versatility they present. “I’m from a pretty conservative background and decided to enjoy the 13 bottles I purchased from that first class for their emotional benefits. During that time, there was no way I would consider using them for anything else. Until a time, I used On Guard® Protective Blend with a combination of other essential oils that was recommended to me. I was really blown away by the whole experience”.
In reaching the rank of Diamond, Emma had always intended that her team would reach this new level and achievement with ease and grace. The reality for them was anything but. “Our month began with a sudden aligning of a number of factors, continued with some pretty significant speed bumps that threatened to make the dream impossible and finished with intensity as we sought to find a large volume with a week to go. There is no way reaching the rank of Diamond can happen without amazing people within your team, cross team friends and corporate support (thank you especially to Holly and Steph!) who are with you in every sense of the word.
I see the next six months as a time for us to really work on the relationships within our team and to bring everyone else to where they need to be. I am so honoured to be led by an incredible mentor Tara Bliss and to be her first New Zealand Diamond Leg. Tara’s guidance, friendship and words of wisdom are integral to how we strive to lead our own teams. She breathes a culture of integrity and generosity of the spirit that we can only hope to emulate”.
For other Wellness Advocates starting out, Emma encourages being true to yourself and what sits well with you. “There will be countless posts, podcasts, emails, websites and advice along the way. Weed out the ones that resonate with you and have faith in what lies ahead for you. You will meet some incredible people and have some extraordinary ‘Eureka’ moments, but don’t forget to sit with your oils and breathe. If you have other team members living near you, teach classes together when you can. You will learn from each other, build your confidence and the people at the classes will see something they want to be part of”.
Emma is motivated and humbled by the constant messages received from people who have found support from the oils. “I love it when we have the opportunity at a class to layer oils onto someone. I like to use Ice Blue® Athletic Blend, especially when they leave smiling and feeling great”.
Lavender Peace® Restful Blend is Emma’s most treasured oil. “It’s a blend that calms me and reassures me that all is well when I need it to be. I use it in my sleep blends, have it attached on my key ring, keep it by my bedside and I love to combine it with Balance® Grounding Blend especially when travelling long distances. Helichrysum essential oil is also another oil I absolutely adore which I save my LRP points for! I am constantly drawn to it and love what it does for my skin. Frankincense and Copaiba essentials oils are two of my staples for everyday use. I rub Frankincense essential oil down my calves when I am on planes and add a drop of each along with Yarrow|Pom Botanical Duo to my moisturiser morning and night. It is great for my skin!”
