3 Holiday DIYs with Holiday Joy, Holiday Peace, and Holiday Love Essential Oil Blends

The most wonderful time of the year is upon us. It’s a season of giving, spending time with loved ones, enjoying tasty dishes, and admiring all the heavenly aromas of the holidays—including the festive fragrances of holiday essential oils. The beloved Holiday Peace essential oil blend is back along with the newly reformulated Holiday Joy blend and joining them this year is a newer but just as exciting face—Holiday Love essential oil blend! Each blend has its own unique qualities and aroma to help you create a festive atmosphere that matches your idea of holiday perfection. Here are some simple ideas to help you spread some essential oil holiday cheer with Holiday Joy, Holiday Peace, and Holiday Love essential oil blends.

Deck the Halls with Essential Oils

Cinnamon spice, fir and pine, and warm hot cocoa are just some of the fragrances that are present in the air during the holidays. Fill your home with even more  scents of the season with scented decorations using essential oils. You can spruce up decorations you already own or have a go at crafting your own festive (and fragrant!) garland. Both Holiday Peace and Holiday Love offer cheerful aromas, but the sweet, citrusy aroma of Holiday Joy essential oil blend adds the perfect touch to all your holiday decorations.

Scented Garland

Supplies

  • Large yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Coloured felt balls
  • Coloured crochet thread
  • Holiday Joy, Holiday Peace, or Holiday Love essential oil blend

Instructions

  1. Measure your crochet thread to the length you’d like your garland—leaving about 15 centimeters of extra thread on each end—and cut with scissors. We recommend about 32 centimeters of thread (62 centimeters total) to allow for three-finger spacing between felt balls.
  2. At one end of the thread, tie a knot 15 centimeters from the end.
  3. Thread the needle and push it through the center of the first felt ball, stringing the ball to the knot you tied.
  4. Continue threading the felt balls, leaving three-finger spacing between each.
  5. When you’ve strung all the felt balls, tie a knot after your last ball. Make sure to leave at least 15 centimeters of extra thread left at the end.
  6. Add one drop of the holiday essential oil blend of your choice to every other felt ball, depending on how strong you want the aroma. We recommend using Holiday Joy essential oil blend, but Holiday Peace or Holiday Love are perfect alternatives.
  7. Tie a loop at both ends using the excess string and hang in your home for a seasonal decoration with a festive aroma that will last through the holidays.

Branchin’ Out with Holiday Aromas

It might be tradition to find a tree at your local tree farm, but if you prefer artificial fir trees, you don’t have to miss out on the piney aroma of a real holiday tree. Simply use the gift of essential oils and make your own holiday tree spray. For a classic piney aroma, choose Holiday Peace oil blend, but if you want to mix it up with a warm, spicy scent, use Holiday Joy or Holiday Love essential oil blends.

Holiday Tree Spray

Supplies

  • Glass spray bottle
  • ¾ cup distilled water
  • 2 Tablespoons witch hazel
  • 10-15 drops of either Holiday Peace, Holiday Love, or Holiday Joy essential oil blend

Instructions

  1. Add distilled water into the glass spray bottle.
  2. Add witch hazel in the glass spray bottle.
  3. Add 10-15 drops of the desired essential oil into the glass spray bottle.
  4. Give the bottle a nice shake.
  5. Spritz on your artificial holiday tree and delight in the piney aroma.

‘Tis the Season to Be Scentsy

Spread the scents of the holidays around your home with an easy holiday potpourri with essential oils. Using simple festive ingredients either from your kitchen, out in nature, or the local craft store, you can create a bowl of holiday magic. For a sweet, woody aroma, we recommend using Holiday Love essential oil blend, but the refreshing aromas of Holiday Joy or Holiday Peace work just as well.

Festive Potpourri

Supplies

  • Holiday Love, Holiday Joy, or Holiday Peace essential oil blend
  • Pinecones (store bought or from your backyard)
  • Fresh spices (cinnamon sticks or whole cloves)
  • Dried apple slices
  • Decorative holiday bowl or container

Instructions

  1. Place the pinecones, fresh spices, and dried apple slices in a decorative holiday bowl or container. Mix and assemble as desired.
  2. Add three to five drops of the desired essential oil blend on top of the potpourri mix.
  3. Place in common areas in your home or in the bathroom and enjoy the scents of the seasons with your homemade potpourri. To refresh the scent, add more drops of essential oil.
