Cinnamon Apple Chips with Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil

Holiday snacking is what dreams are made of. Baked goods, chocolate, peppermints… oh my! Honestly, we can never get enough. As much as we love it, though, all these tasty treats can come with a price—stomach aches.

But, that doesn’t mean we stop snacking! It just means we snack better. The next time you have the holiday munchies, we’ve got just the recipe: Cinnamon Apple Chips. These apple chips put a healthy twist on your regular holiday snacking, with just a touch of sweetness and a delightful dash of spiced Cinnamon Bark essential oil flavor. They’re so good, we end up making them all year round (and we totally recommend it)!

SUPPLIES
  • 5–6 medium apples (Fuji or Pink Lady are recommended, but use your favorite variety)
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar
  • 6 drops Cinnamon Bark oil
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 107° C.
  2. Combine sugar and Cinnamon Bark oil in small bowl. Stir to combine.
  3. Slice apples into thin slices, no more than 1 centimeter thick. For best results, use a mandolin!
  4. Place apple slices onto a parchment paper covered baking sheet in single layer. Make sure there’s no overlapping to ensure the crispiest chips.
  5. Sprinkle apple slices evenly with sugar mixture.
  6. Place baking sheet in preheated oven for 45 minutes, flipping halfway through the baking time.
  7. When the edges of the apples curl, take them out of oven and place on wire rack until cooled and crispy.

These chips are delicious enough to share with a group of family or friends! Try serving up a batch beside a plate of our On Guard® Pretzels at your next holiday party. They’re also an easy recipe to bake together with kids.
