Wassail with Essential Oils


As the seasons turn chilly, we need warm, cozy things more than ever. We’re talking warm clothing, warm blankets, warm drinks, and, of course, warm aromas. Get bundled up, because we’ve put together some of the season’s coziest essential oil aromas and added them to one fragrant and delicious wassail recipe. This is one spiced cider that’s sure to warm hearts and tantalize taste buds at any gathering, all while filling your home with the scents of the holidays!

Supplies

  • 950 mL cranberry juice
  • 475 mL apple juice
  • 475 mL orange juice
  • 2 drops Cinnamon Bark oil
  • 2 drops Wild Orange oil
  • 1 drop Clove Bud oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup honey, plus more to taste
  • 5 cinnamon sticks, for garnish
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a stockpot over medium high heat, reserving the cinnamon sticks and fresh cranberries on the side.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer. Allow to simmer for at least an hour, letting flavors mingle.
  3. Taste-test and add more essential oils and honey to taste.
  4. Add the reserved cinnamon sticks and cranberries for garnish and enjoy warm! Store refrigerated for up to five days.
