Oregano oil is one of our most potent essential oils and has been used for centuries in traditional practices. Today, this essential oil—extracted from the fragrant leaves of the oregano herb—has made its way into cooking, cleaning cabinets, and beyond. Oregano essential oil is versatile and powerful, due to a high concentration of both carvacol and thymol—two phenol chemicals with profound topical cleansing properties.
Because it’s so potent, we created doTERRA Touch® Oregano—a proprietary blend of Oregano essential oil and Fractionated Coconut Oil that makes it easy to enjoy the benefits of Oregano oil, even if you have sensitive skin! Since doTERRA Touch Oregano is pre-diluted, it’s an ideal alternative for topical application, people with sensitive skin, or for on-the-go use.
Because of Oregano essential oil’s high phenol content, use caution when diffusing or inhaling—you only one to two drops. When applied topically, always dilute Oregano essential oil with Fractionated Coconut Oil.

The name “oregano” is derived from the Greek words oros, meaning mountain, and ganos, meaning joy. Combined, the name of the herb means “joy of the mountain.”
The oregano plant, Origanum vulgare, is a bushy perennial that is part of the Lamiaceae family. The oregano plant grows best in dry- to medium-moisture and well-drained soils, and thrives in full sunlight. The leaves of the plant are rounded or ovate in shape and famously fragrant. This plant also produces tiny, pinkish-purple or white flowers. We extract our Oregano essential oil from the leaves of this plant.
Oregano essential oil blends well with essentials oils that are either herbaceous or invigorating, such as Peppermint oil, Lavender oil, Basil oil, Rosemary oil, Bergamot oil, Cypress oil, and Tea Tree oil.
Possible skin sensitivity. Always dilute before use. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.
