Origin: a Latin derivative
meaning "Gift of the Earth."
Basil essential oil amplifies the soothing, sweet aroma of basil leaves and carries profound benefits as a versatile tool in aromatherapy, topical application, and an in-a-pinch substitute for fresh basil during cooking.
Why should I add Basil oil to my collection? Like many other tender-leaf herb essential oils (such as Cilantro oil), Basil essential oil contains high levels of linalool, a property that fosters skin-soothing sensations. However, the aroma of Basil essential oil has a particularly invigorating yet relaxing aroma that makes it uniquely beneficial in aromatherapy above its other linalool peers.
