Red Mandarin Essential Oil

Red Mandarin essential oil—also known as tangor and temple orange—comes from mature mandarin fruit, while Green Mandarin essential oil comes from the unripe fruit of the same tree. doTERRA Red Mandarin essential oil is sourced from Brazil.

Red Mandarin oil contains 65–75% limonene—a chemical component found in most citrus oils—which accounts for the essential oil’s cleansing effects. Red Mandarin and Green Mandarin essential oils also include gamma-Terpinene (γ-Terpinene), which is found in Tea Tree and other cleansing oils.

Green Mandarin Essential Oil

Green Mandarin essential oil is cold-pressed from the unripe fruit of the mandarin tree, while Red Mandarin essential oil comes from mature pieces of fruit.

Like Red Mandarin, Green Mandarin oil is renowned for its surface-cleansing properties, as well as its ability to refresh and energize a space when diffused.

Litsea Essential Oil

Tonka Bean Absolute

Tonka bean, known scientifically as Dipteryx odorata, is a highly esteemed ingredient native to Central America and northern South America.

The name tonka bean comes from the Galibi (Carib) language spoken by the natives of French Guiana. Related to the pea family, tonka beans are almond-shaped, featuring a black and wrinkled exterior with a smooth brown interior.

Commonly used in perfumery, tonka beans are celebrated for their rich aroma, reminiscent of vanilla, almonds, cinnamon, and cloves.

Vanilla Absolute

Vanilla planifolia is a member of the orchid family, with yellow-white flowers that produce odourless bean pods. These blooms must be hand-pollinated, and it takes three to four years for the plant to begin producing beans. The beans are also harvested by hand before undergoing a time-consuming, labour-intensive process to fully develop their aroma and flavour.

Afterward, the beans are ground into small pieces and subjected to pressurized CO2 in a two-step extraction process that captures the beans’ aromatic constituents in vanilla absolute.

Of the real vanilla available in the world, 80% comes from Madagascar, which has the perfect tropical climate for the spice to thrive. In Madagascar, thousands of people—mostly families—are employed in the vanilla supply chain. The harvest is a crucial source of employment for rural communities and an integral part of the local economy, contributing to the livelihoods of almost 80,000 farmers.
