If you’re new to starting a business, it can be an overwhelming time, especially if you don’t have a solid plan in place. You may come across some hurdles, but don’t worry, we have broken down 6 steps for you to work on, one at a time to help you build your doTERRA business from the ground up!

1. Ask yourself WHY you are joining doTERRA – It’s important to have a reason for why you want to build a doTERRA business. Perhaps you want a flexible lifestyle where you can make a profitable business while working from home; or a chance to contribute to the family budget while still being there to meet the needs of your family; or maybe your Why is a change of career that allows you to travel. Whatever the reason may be, it is important to keep it in mind as your WHY can help you drive your success.
    
2. Connect with your upline – When starting your business, keep in touch with your upline for support. Let them help you come up with a plan of action. Together you can work on what your short-term and long-term goals will be, what your enrolment target is, when you plan to host classes and what tools you will use to educate yourself and others. Talking things out with your upline can help you start your doTERRA business on the right foot. 
    
3. Share a product with a family member or friend – Sharing your business with people you don’t know can be a challenge, so pitch to those you are comfortable with – your family and friends! They will be able to give you feedback on your approach so that once you are ready, you can pitch to someone you don’t know. Share a product with them that will meet their needs along with other educational material they can refer to. It is important to become familiar with all of our doTERRA products so you become the Wellness Guru.
    
4. Attend Training events – this will give you an opportunity to learn from our doTERRA India leaders. You can gain insight into sales training, networking, new product information and tools to help you succeed in your business. Keep an eye out for new events that pop up in your area and for regular business and training updates.
    
5. Use social media – In our society social media is a valuable business tool. It is a great way to promote yourself and your doTERRA business, but which platform is best suited to you? There are some handy tips that you can implement daily to ensure you are creating a meaningful presence in the digital world.
    
6. Teach a class – Running a class for the first time can be overwhelming which is why we encourage you to team up with your upline to run your first couple of classes.
