About the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™

The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation seeks to bring healing and hope to the world, for lives free of disease and poverty, and to ultimately empower impoverished communities with the tools needed to become self-reliant.

Beginning doTERRA's Charity Organization

Having experienced the life-enriching power of essential oils, a group of health-care and business professionals collaborated with a common goal of creating a new standard of essential oils that would influence individuals and communities around the world. In the spring of 2008, their vision became a reality and doTERRA, meaning “gift of the Earth,” was founded. Since the company’s beginning, high-quality essential oils sourced and distributed by doTERRA have spread throughout the globe, enhancing many lives.

In addition to sharing essential oils with the world, doTERRA aspired to serve people and communities with the resources they had. Initially, this meant donating to charities, fundraisers, and community projects, but it eventually grew to be much more. The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation was created in June 2012 as an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The foundation is one of the ways doTERRA reaches out and serves communities in need. They do this by partnering with organizations and doTERRA Wellness Advocates to offer hope to millions around the world. Through the foundation’s efforts, lives are freed of disease and poverty, and communities are empowered with the tools needed to become self-reliant.

Microcredit Lending

The first donations from the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation went toward a microcredit lending fund through our partner, Mentors International. Through this fund, and the additional funds that have been created over the years, credit is provided to small business owners that do not have access to financing opportunities or whose only lending options are with unethical and even dangerous lenders. The partnership between the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation and Mentors International provides hard-working entrepreneurs with small business loans and education to help them succeed in their business. These loans offer opportunities for personal and family growth and can help them elevate their communities through economic development.

Wellness Advocate Partner Projects

In addition to microcredit lending, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation focuses on programs and organizations that work to improve sanitation and water availability, health care, and educational opportunities. To encourage and support the many existing service programs, our Wellness Advocates are able to request assistance from the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation for projects or service programs they are involved with. This type of service falls under Wellness Advocate Partner Projects. To qualify for support, Wellness Advocate projects must achieve the following criteria:

  • Alignment of the project with the mission statement of the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation
  • Not-for-profit nature of the activity and its sponsoring organization
  • Impact of the project in relation to its costs
  • Promises perpetuity or sustainability of the project results
  • Be, or partner with, a doTERRA Wellness Advocate
  • Sponsored by a Diamond level Wellness Advocate (or above)
  • Contributions made in the past or future from the individual submitting the request and their Diamond (or above) sponsor, exemplifying their investment in the project.
We encourage our Wellness Advocates to be active in their community and around the world and strive to give back and help in meaningful ways. By working jointly with these conscientious individuals, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation is able to inspire healing, hope, and self-reliance throughout the world.

100 percent of all donations to the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation go directly to those receiving aid, so donors can be confident that their donations will be used to help those in need. This is possible because of doTERRA's generous commitment to cover all overhead and administrative costs of the foundation.

doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation and Co-Impact Sourcing®

Co-Impact Sourcing is a responsible method for sourcing doTERRA essential oils. This type of sourcing occurs in areas of the world that can best sustain plants for essential oils and, most importantly, can help elevate communities out of poverty and desperate need. Thanks to the relationships that have been developed in these Co-Impact Sourcing locations, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation has been able to establish humanitarian projects that benefit the hard-working community members in these areas.
