Some oils do one thing well. Lemon does several. It can freshen a room, brighten food and drink, help cleanse household surfaces, and bring a crisp citrus lift to everyday routines.
Lemon keeps it simple. Cold pressed from the rind of real lemons, this bright citrus oil moves easily from cleaning and freshening to cooking and aroma. Diffuse it to lift the room, reach for it when the counters need attention, or add a drop to food and drink for fresh citrus flavor.
dōTERRA sources Lemon from family citrus orchards in Sicily, Italy, where lemon and bergamot have been grown for generations. The aromatic oil is expressed directly from the peel, where it's most concentrated, then tested to CPTG® standards for purity.
A brighter kind of clean.

What's in Lemon, how it's produced, and what makes this familiar citrus oil so versatile.
How Lemon (Citrus limon) essential oil works depends on how it’s used—aromatically, on surfaces, or internally.
Limonene
Limonene is Lemon's primary chemical constituent, a monoterpene behind its bright aroma and uplifting characteristics. When taken internally, limonene may support a healthy digestive system and a healthy mouth and promotes a healthy metabolism and inflammatory response.*
CPTG® stands for Certified Pure Tested Grade, dōTERRA's quality standard for essential oils. In plain terms: every batch is tested to confirm it’s pure essential oil and nothing else, with no fillers or synthetics. It's how you know the oil in the bottle is exactly what it says it is.
