Philippines Relief Efforts

In November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded, hit Southeast Asia, mainly in the Philippines. There were thousands killed by this storm and thousands more were injured and displaced from their homes. Shortly after the disaster, the Healing Hands Foundation contacted our charity partner Mentors International, who has offices and staff in the Philippines, to see what they were doing to help the affected people and how we could assist them in their efforts. Globus Relief, another charity that has partnered with the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™  in the past, was also contacted to help send medical supplies to the affected area.

Mentors International has had operations in the Philippines for many years and is well established there. Many past and current recipients of their micro credit loans and Mentors Philippines employees were in need of help and assistance. The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation donated funds to Mentors International to assist in their efforts. Healing Hands funds went toward the materials needed to reconstruct the homes of 60 families as well as supplying food and groceries to 138 families in the affected area.

Globus Relief sends needed medical supplies as well as teams of doctors to deliver medical care and serve those in need in disaster stricken areas. The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation donated funds to Globus Relief to help ship a container of phase II relief supplies to the Philippines with the help of Mercy in Action.
