Origin: a Latin derivative
meaning "Gift of the Earth."
Palmarosa essential oil has a bright aroma that smells slightly sweet and floral. Though its name, Palmarosa, makes it sound like it might be a tree or a rose plant, Palmarosa essential oil actually comes from a grass that is dried then steam distilled to create this fresh, clear to pale yellow essential oil. As a grass that can grow almost 10 feet tall, and with its bright, shining aroma, it’s no wonder the plant requires abundant sunshine to grow. Palmarosa essential oil contains a high percentage of geraniol, which is one of the same primary aroma constituents in Rose essential oil. Palmarosa often finds a place in skin care routines for its healthy-looking skin properties.
