Important Product Updates

Effective from late 2022, there will be a number of changes made to doTERRA products that contain Wintergreen essential oil, including PastTense™. This will coincide with the exciting reformulation of our Deep Blue™ range!

The new and improved Deep Blue™ will now benefit from the addition of Copaiba essential oil, as well as further enhancements including a new source of Rosemary. For full details about these changes and the products impacted, please see the relevant sections below:

Following the successful launch of the Deep Blue™ Stick infused with Copaiba, we are now going to be reformulating all products in the Deep Blue™ range. Known for its soothing qualities and ability to support healthy-looking skin, Copaiba essential oil is a key component of Deep Blue™ Stick, helping to complement its uses. Through the reformulation of the Deep Blue™ line, we are able maximise the benefits of this proprietary blend and all Deep Blue™ products. This enhancement will also include the introduction of a new source of Rosemary grown in Spain, which is naturally high in camphor.

Following rigorous efficacy tests, this improved formula has been found to perform even better than the current blend. Additionally, as part of this new process, we have been able to ensure that the new formula will also meet newly introduced EU legislation related to a constituent of Wintergreen essential oil, which is part of the Deep Blue™ formulas.

We will continue to work to confirm the exact dates when the newly formulated products will be available, but until then, here are our best estimates. Please note that these are subject to change:

  • Spring 2023: Deep Blue™ (5 ml), Deep Blue™ Roll-On (10 ml) and Deep Blue™ Touch (10 ml)
  • Summer 2023: Deep Blue™ Rub and Deep Blue™ Stick

Deep Blue™ Polyphenol Complex will remain unaffected by these changes. These dates are subject to change and we will share a confirmed date closer to the time.

With EU legislation soon coming into effect regarding the concentration of the primary constituent of Wintergreen essential oil, dōTERRA Europe has made the difficult decision to discontinue Wintergreen essential oil in all European countries that belong to the European Union. From mid-December 2022, sales of Wintergreen will be turned off in all EU countries.

As a result, it will no longer be available for purchase and will be removed from all Loyalty Order (LRP) templates in those EU countries.

However, Wintergreen will still be available to purchase, for the foreseeable future, in those European countries that do not belong to the EU. Those countries are as follows:

  • United Kingdom
  • Switzerland
  • Norway
  • Monaco
  • Iceland

PastTense™ currently contains Wintergreen essential oil, which is going to be discontinued in all EU countries from mid-December 2022. PastTense™ will be reformulated to enhance the product you know and love. This redevelopment, however, is expected to take longer than Deep Blue™ and may not be complete until later in 2023. PastTense™ will remain available for purchase in European countries that do not belong to the European Union. See above for the list of non-EU countries.

Once the reformulation has taken place, PastTense™ will be relaunched across Europe with a new label and will replace the old formula in non-EU markets.

Why are these changes taking place?

As part of our ongoing commitment to you, our members, we are making these changes to ensure that our doTERRA products meet EU legislation and continue to be produced to the highest quality you have come to expect.

What changes are being made to Deep Blue™ during the reformulation?

When the new Deep Blue™ formula launches during 2023, it will benefit from the addition of Copaiba, amongst other new ingredients such as a new source of Rosemary from Spain, which is naturally high in camphor. These new additions will enhance and complement the existing benefits of the Deep Blue™ products you know and love.

In which markets will I still be able to buy Wintergreen and PastTense™?

You can still buy these two products in UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Monaco.

How will I know when the new formula of Deep Blue™ and PastTense™ is available?

When the newly formulated products are available for purchase, we will let you know via email and social media.
