At doTERRA Healing Hands, empowering women isn’t just a mission for one day—it’s a daily pursuit. Empowering a woman or girl doesn’t just lift her, it lifts her family, her friends, and her entire community.
In recognition of International Women’s Day on March 8th, we wanted to take a moment to highlight a few of the projects supported by doTERRA Healing Hands to empower women worldwide. To learn more about our latest efforts, make sure to follow doTERRA Healing Hands on Instagram.
Working with Days for Girls, doTERRA Healing Hands recently funded menstrual kits and training for 500 women and girls in India, near where doTERRA sources Lemongrass essential oil. Finances for many of these families are tight, leaving them with little to no funding to purchase supplies when they’re on their periods.
One girl who received a kit shared that she lives with her grandparents and works as a day laborer to support their family. It’s difficult to afford sanitary pads with the little money she earns. When she heard about the Days for Girls training, she missed work for the day in order to receive her menstrual kit and the corresponding training. Her happiness at receiving the kit and learning the reuseable pads will last for three years was immense. Now she can safely care for herself during her period without the added financial burden of purchasing menstruation supplies.
Working with doTERRA Healing Hands, the doTERRA Europe Market sponsored a girls’ handball team in Moldova, near where doTERRA sources cilantro, coriander, clary sage, and fennel. Through handball, the girls improved their athleticism while building friendships and developing important character traits. Perhaps more important is that handball provides an opportunity for girls to engage in a sport. While soccer is very popular for boys and receives more attention and support, handball has become the sport for primarily girls to engage in. The program empowers as many children as possible to participate in a sport, promotes a healthy lifestyle among participants, and encourages family and community involvement in handball events. Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, many incredible doTERRA women joined forces to provide support to women, girls, and families who had been displaced. By distributing 72-Hour Emergency Relief Hygiene Kits, these women were able to give back, lifting and helping in their communities in awe-inspiring ways. Check out this blog article to learn more about their efforts.
Thank you for helping us empower women and girls worldwide! These are just a few examples of the projects and impact your support help make possible.
