doTERRA: There is a common saying that goes “If you don't have your health, you don't have anything.” Now, it may be your physical health that springs to mind when you hear this, but equally as important is the health of your mood and mind, which is what we're going to be discussing today.

Today, we're excited to talk to Nicole Moultrie about how you can utilize doTERRA products to help support your mood and mind. Nicole, we're so glad to have you here with us today to talk about such an incredible topic.
Nicole Moultrie: Thank you so much for having me. I love being on and I love—when I'm teaching, I'm learning. And so, I'm just grateful for the opportunity.
doTERRA: Well, we love learning from you. So my first question for you is how can I use essential oils internally to help me support my emotions?
Nicole: I love this question. This is such a great question. So what I love about the three ways that we can use essential oils, right? We've got topically; we've got aromatically, and we've got internally. And one of the reasons I love taking oils internally is because it gives us such a targeted delivery.
And what I mean by that is one of my favorite oils to use for, you know, supporting emotions is Copaiba. Now I do love Copaiba topically, and we'll use that. It’s even for relief. But when I take two drops under the tongue of Copaiba, I feel change in my emotions. And it is a powerful change when I'm able to do that. Similar to Frankincense, it provides a feeling of grounding and balance when taken internally.
You can take them, you know, if you could see me, I'm showing you, I'm dropping a bottle into my mouth, but right underneath your tongue. You can put them in a softgel. I love the versatility of taking essential oils internally to support my mood and my emotions. I think as we talk about doTERRA and essential oils, there's always such a variety of things to choose from.
And so, when we switch things up, our bodies react. They're happy. They're happy for the change. And so, I really love being able to use that to help support my emotions. It's just such a great option.
doTERRA: Absolutely. And, you know, life can be very unexpected. We can get overwhelmed, have a lot of demands put upon us. So how can I use essential oils to help keep me in the best frame of mind?
Nicole: I love how you worded that. Things can come up, surprises and feelings of overwhelm or anxiousness can come when we're prepared or we're not prepared. And so, what I love about all the versatility of having these oils at our fingertips, or these products, is we can start our day out on the right foot. So we can set ourselves up for success right out of the gate.
So there are some oils that I really love and I say, you know, are kind of must-haves. So I love Balance. I love the blend Elevation. I love using those oils on my chest topically to help me get the day going. This is going to help us utilize oils to get us in the best frame of mind, setting up that foundation right away.
Now, like you said, life can throw us a curveball. And we might not be ready right then, but we can grab—you know—some Wild Orange or, like I mentioned earlier, Copaiba is such a great supportive oil for me, or Adaptiv. And apply those topically, we can use them in the air, diffusing them, setting ourselves up again for that success throughout the day but knowing, “Hey, these things could happen. And I've got my tool belt full of different tools and essential oils to help me get in that best, like you said, that best frame of mind.”
So I think another great thing when you bring up that is just being really intentional. You know, being in our best state of mind I think takes practice. And I love that people will often use, you know, essential oils in their meditation. Or, you know, I love the idea of a “Miracle Morning” before I exercise, you know, each morning, and I'm obviously going to use a variety of essential oils. I love Breathe and my mind is so now connected to exercise and Breathe. It really provides a best frame of mind, to use your statement. So we can use essential oils, utilize those throughout the day, but I love getting that base and that foundation. Then we're thrown off less.
doTERRA: Absolutely. So let's say I hit a point in my day where I just need a little bit of uplift. What essential oils do you use to help create that uplifting environment?
Nicole: I just took a deep breath. I say this all the time, and it's interesting in how we react to different oils is interesting or what makes us feel relaxed or what soothes us. Oftentimes, people might say, “It's interesting. Mint or peppermint or spearmint might create the opposite effect.” So for me, I really love Spearmint, Tangerine, Wild Orange, Sandalwood mixed in. I'm always trying to mix something, you know, a wood or a tree essential oil with some type of citrus. I really love that combination. So as I'm trying to create a soothing environment, it's odd, but I do kind of pick those mints and those citrus oils that really, really do that for me.
I know a lot of people really love finding something grounding, Balance, think of woods and trees and think into the ground literally is what it does. Like I mentioned, Sandalwood, Frankincense. I do love Siberian Fir, Douglas Fir, all of those, even as I'm talking, it helped like my voice slow down. Copaiba is an incredible, incredible beautiful oil that can create a relaxing and soothing environment, for sure. Serenity, I mean, it's called a Restful Blend. It does that.
And I just want to point out too, some of our oils from our yoga line. They're incredible, incredible, incredible. If you're looking for that. And I always tell people, “Put your oils in front of you. What are you drawn to?” You know, what feels good? That's usually a good indicator of what your body really wants.
doTERRA: I think that's absolutely right. Just paying attention to how your body is reacting and figure out what's going to work best for you is so key.
Nicole: That's what's great too is we get a mix and match. We get to figure it out. And at some points of our life, you know, I can think back and think like, “Gosh, I couldn't get enough of Elevation at that point in my life.” And then, you know, “Now I can't get enough of Spearmint” or “I can't get enough of Adaptiv.” It's fun to be able to mix and match all along our journeys.
doTERRA: Absolutely. So one of the scary parts of having these unexpected things come your way, feeling overwhelmed is that we might wonder if we're actually equipped to handle everything that gets thrown at us. So how do you incorporate these doTERRA products into your daily life to make sure you're helping to support your mood and your mind?
Nicole: That's such a good question. My first thought when you said that, you know, went to mother—the role as mother and whether we are a mother or not a mother, most of us provide, care for someone in our lives—whether that's our best friend, our partner, our grandmother, our mother or father, or whatever it is. And I always love being able to say, or like you said, provide some help or some relief in the form of an essential oil or, you know, a bottle of Adaptiv Calming Blend Capsules or Copaiba Softgels. And I love feeling that there is something that I can do. There is some way to help me support what is going on outside of the controllables.
And, you know, we mentioned earlier setting that foundation. So we're kind of not thrown so off throughout the day as different curveballs come because they're going to come. And so, I love, again, that I can have my daily routine. We talk about routines a lot because they really do help us be able to combat and handle and manage all the things that come at us.
And that's everything. That's incredible. If you told someone right now, “Hey, I've got some options for you that will really help you manage, you know, and support life's ups and downs.”
I think everybody would say, “Tell me where to sign.” And that's exactly what specifically these doTERRA Mind and Mood products can do.
doTERRA: So like you mentioned, doTERRA has this incredible new tool that it has introduced, which is the Mind and Mood Wellness Program. So how is that going to help me achieve my wellness goals?
Nicole: I love it. We keep calling it targeted wellness, and most of the time when we are working with someone or ourselves and we're asking ourselves, “Okay, what is it that I want to work on? What is it that I'm focusing on?”

And oftentimes, it's multiple things, but more often than not, 10 out of 10, it's going to be mind and mood.
