The Power of Education

During the doTERRA Incentive Trip 2024, doTERRA leaders donated to the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation^® to fund scholarships for Haitian students. According to the United Nations, access to education is one of the strongest indicators of breaking poverty cycles. Unfortunately, for many families in Haiti, education is out of reach due to cost.

Around 90% of schools in Haiti are private schools which have added expenses. Even public schools have additional fees due to the cost of uniforms and books. As the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, these expenses often prevent children from attending school.

Through their donations to the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation, doTERRA leaders empowered the children of doTERRA Vetiver farmers to attend school. These donations will help dozens of students who will now receive a life-changing education. Additionally, their families will benefit, freeing up money that otherwise would have gone towards school expenses. One student who was aided by a previous doTERRA Healing Hands^® scholarship was Willy.

Willy is passionate about science and determined to go to university to study biology. Prior to receiving a scholarship, he often missed school because he was working to earn enough money for his school fees. Through this scholarship, Willy has been able to pursue an education without worrying about where the money would come from to pay for it.

Through this unique opportunity to give back directly to the doTERRA Vetiver sourcing community, doTERRA leaders are truly impacting lives on both sides of the bottle. The ripple effects of one life changed through education are immeasurable and now these students in Haiti have the opportunity to pursue the futures they want.

Power of One 100% of donations to the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation^® are always given to aid because dōTERRA International covers the operating costs of the foundation. Of the donations used to support a Power of One project, 100% is used to empower the individuals in Cō-Impact Sourcing^® supply chain areas for the current project. Once the fundraising goal for a Power of One project has been met, dōTERRA Healing Hands^® will distribute additional donations raised among other projects in need of funding until the following quarter when next Power of One fundraiser launches and fundraising for that project begins.
