Fractionated Coconut Oil

doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil is a natural carrier oil that readily absorbs into the skin, making it ideal for topical delivery. Its feather-light emollient effect provides a soothing barrier without clogging the body’s pores, making it an excellent moisturizer for dry or troubled skin. It leaves the skin feeling silky smooth and non-greasy, unlike other vegetable carrier oils. Fractionated Coconut Oil is completely soluble with all essential oils and is colorless, odorless, and stain-free.

Patchouli Essential Oil

Patchouli is a bushy herb from the mint family with stems reaching two to three feet in height and bearing small pink-white flowers. Known for its rich and musky sweet fragrance, patchouli oil is regularly used in the perfume industry and in scented products like laundry detergents and air fresheners.

Patchouli essential oil comes from the leaf. Fresh leaves are air-dried for several days before distillation. When dried, they shrink to a third of their original weight. After drying, the leaves are distilled for at least eight hours.

Patchouli oil is beneficial to the skin in a myriad of ways. Patchouli essential oil is often used topically to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes, and minor skin imperfections. It can also promote a smooth, glowing complexion.

Bergamot Essential Oil

Bergamot essential oil is unique among citrus oils because it can create both an uplifting and calming environment.

Bergamot is the most delicate citrus plant, requiring a special climate and soil to thrive. Italians have used bergamot oil for years to soothe and rejuvenate the skin.

Sandalwood Essential Oil

Sandalwood essential oil is sourced from fragrant woods that can retain their aroma for decades. Both the wood and essential oil have been highly valued for centuries.

Sandalwood oil has traditionally been used as incense in religious ceremonies because of its sweet, woody, and grounding aroma. Sandalwood oil is also beneficial to the skin, reducing the appearance of skin imperfections and promoting a smooth complexion.

Vanilla Absolute image Vanilla Absolute image

Vanilla Absolute

A perennial climbing vine that grows up to 75 feet long, Vanilla planifolia is a member of the orchid family, with yellow-white flowers that produce odorless bean pods. These blooms must be hand-pollinated, and it takes three to four years for the plant to begin producing beans. The beans are also harvested by hand before undergoing a time-consuming, labor-intensive process to fully develop their aroma and flavor.

Afterward, the beans are ground into small pieces and subjected to pressurized CO2 in a two-step extraction process that captures the beans’ aromatic constituents in a vanilla absolute.

Of the real vanilla available in the world, 80% comes from Madagascar, which has the perfect tropical climate for the spice to thrive. In Madagascar, thousands of people—mostly families—are employed in the vanilla supply chain. The harvest is a crucial source of employment for rural communities and an integral part of the local economy, contributing to the livelihoods of almost 80,000 farmers.

Rose Essential Oil image Rose Essential Oil image

Rose Essential Oil

Rosa damascena—more commonly known as the Damask rose—is a small shrub with thorny stems. Originally from the Syrian capital Damascus, it’s highly sought after for its incredible aromatic properties.

Before the sun crests the horizon, Bulgarian workers can be found in the fields harvesting delicate blooms. The labor-intensive production process has a low yield. It takes over 10,000 freshly picked rose blossoms to produce a 5 mL bottle of Rose essential oil. Because the petals are so delicate, the distillation process must happen the same day the flower is harvested.

Known as the queen of essential oils, Rose oil is enormously popular because of its aroma and powerful topical benefits.

Jasmine Extract image Jasmine Extract image

Jasmine Extract

Visually beautiful and distinctive, the pure white jasmine flower is associated with love and romance. Jasmine extract has a calming aroma that helps create an optimistic atmosphere.

With a lifespan of nearly 30 years, jasmine has dark green foliage and delicate white flowers. Jasmine flowers bloom before sunrise. To ensure the highest-quality aromatic compounds, it’s essential to pick the flowers and extract their essential oil immediately after the plant blooms. Blossoms are carefully hand-harvested before dawn (usually around 2:30 a.m.) about six months after planting to prevent the sun’s heat from melting the flower’s wax and killing the blossom.

cinnamon bark image cinnamon image

Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil

Cinnamon Bark essential oil is derived from a tropical evergreen tree that grows up to 45 feet high and has highly fragrant bark, leaves, and flowers. The sweet, spicy aroma of cinnamon is loved worldwide, and its iconic flavor is frequently used in mouth rinses and chewing gum.

The bark can be harvested year-round after the tree reaches three years of maturity. The tree is cut and the bark is peeled from the trunk and major branches. The tree regrows and can be harvested again when it reaches the right size. After the bark is harvested, it’s dried in the sun and then steam-distilled to produce the essential oil.

Vetiver image Vetiver image

Vetiver Essential Oil

About half of the world’s vetiver oil is produced in Haiti. Vetiver grows well in the country’s sunny climate, and it’s hearty enough to survive common Caribbean floods and droughts.

Vetiver is a member of the grass family. Its root system can grow down 13 feet—ideal for erosion prevention. Unlike most grasses, vetivers roots grow vertically rather than horizontally.

Vetiver essential oil is distilled from these roots. The more time vetiver roots spend in the ground, the higher their essential oil quality, so our farmers are paid a premium to leave the roots in the ground longer. Ideally, vetiver should be harvested 12 to 18 months after planting.

Labdanum image Labdanum image

Labdanum Essential Oil

Labdanum, a shrub with ancient allure and rich history, traces its origins to the rocky landscapes of the Mediterranean and Middle East. Known scientifically as Cistus ladaniferus, it’s revered for its aromatic resin. Ancient Egyptians used it as incense and in perfumes, and ancient Greeks incorporated it into wellness practices.

Labdanum essential oil is steam-distilled from the shrub’s leaves and twigs. It’s celebrated for its warm, rich aroma.

Cocoa Seed Essential Oil

Cocoa Seed essential oil is derived from the illustrious cocoa plant, Theobroma cacao. Originating from the tropical climates of the Americas, cocoa beans are revered for their rich, enchanting aroma and flavor. Cocoa Seed essential oil is carefully cold-pressed from the beans.

Historically, cocoa has been celebrated for its delectable flavor and has played a significant role in ancient rituals and ceremonies. The luxurious scent of Cocoa Seed essential oil makes it a popular choice in perfumery. Cocoa Seed oil is also often used in skincare products for its moisturizing properties.

Ylang Ylang image Ylang Ylang image

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Ylang Ylang essential oil is derived from the star-shaped flowers of the tropical ylang ylang tree. Like jasmine, ylang ylang has been used for centuries in religious and wedding ceremonies.
