doTERRA hosts its annual Convention every September and it’s a great opportunity for customers, and anyone who’s interested in essential oils, to learn more about how to use essential oils, hear from leaders in the community, and join thousands of like-minded people who are passionate and motivated to make a difference.

The 2022 Heal Convention starts next week, and we wanted to take some time to share a few of the things that make convention so amazing. First, we’re going to talk to Rubi Leguizamon, Business Development Director with doTERRA, about her experiences at Convention. Rubi, thank you so much for sitting down with us today.

Rubi Leguizamon: Thank you guys so much for inviting me, I'm excited to be a part of this podcast.

doTERRA: So, my first question for you is, how many doTERRA conventions have you been to so far?

Rubi Leguizamon: Yes. So, I have been a part of the doTERRA family here, at corporate since 2010. So, that year's convention was actually my first one that I attended, as I say, as an employee here at doTERRA, and so I've been to well, let's see, this year is going to be, I think, my 12th convention.

doTERRA: That is incredible. So, you have seen a lot of change and growth at doTERRA since you've been here?

Rubi Leguizamon: Yes. So much growth, so much energy and momentum. I mean, you know, when I talk to leaders and Wellness Advocates, you know, I tell them, like, you know, you got to come to convention every year. They just get better and better each year. And I'm, I'm definitely excited for this year's convention.

Rubi’s Favorite Part of Convention

doTERRA: I absolutely agree with you. So, you've been to 11 conventions so far. This will be your 12th. What do you love about convention?

Rubi Leguizamon: You know, this event, you know, in my role here, at doTERRA, I attend different events throughout the year and convention for me is by far my favorite event. And to be honest with you, I think it's just this event brings people together. doTERRA does so much good around the world, and at convention we get to hear about the positive impact we are all a part of. And to add to that, you know, we also get to learn how to use essential oils and the science behind it.

I mean, there's so much information and research that we do on these essential oils, right? And in a convention, you also get to learn how to share these gifts of the Earth and of health and wellness to others. And so, I think just to summarize all those thoughts, you know, convention just energizes people. And I'm excited for this year's convention and the future of doTERRA.

doTERRA: Yes. And like you said, it brings these people together. It's incredible to see thousands of people, who share these same ideas and passion for essential oils that you do, together under one roof. Like you said, it's energizing and it's incredible.

Rubi Leguizamon: Yep, that's right. And attending convention in person, I know that we're going to have a lot of people participating virtually, and so that's that's amazing and I think that there is a lot of energy that you can feel, even just watching it at home, but being at convention in person, just the vibes and the energy when you're in that arena, right? And everyone's like, you know, and the arena always smells so amazing. Right? Becasue everyone is putting on these oils.

In fact, I think the whole city of Salt Lake smells incredible, right? Because the city is just packed with thousands of Wellness Advocates. Right? And so, oh, man, I'm so excited!

doTERRA: Yes. Can you tell us what you're excited most for this year?

Most Exciting Part of Convention 2022

Rubi Leguizamon: I have been thinking about this, you know, as even as a corporate employee and I think you would agree to this as well, that we look forward to convention as well. And I love this year's convention theme. Heal. You know, the past couple of years, we've all gone through a lot of things, a lot of hurt relationships changing. We've just gone through a lot of things. And there's, there's just a lot of things going on around the world.

So, convention is just the perfect time to come together to rise up and heal. And that's why I love this year's theme so much, but also all the new products right now. I think we're all excited to find out what new products are coming out at convention. I think that we will have been hearing about a new product line coming out that is going to continue to change people's lives and their health and wellness.

Right? And you know, this new product line that's coming out, I'm excited because is going to continue to build the doTERRA lifestyle that we all live and share with others, right? And will continue to help us build that optimal health. And so the future looks bright at doTERRA I am so I'm so excited for this year's convention and for everyone to come together and have just an incredible week of excitement and knowledge and just so many, so many awesome things.

doTERRA: Yes. I wish we could share what the new products are because they are so exciting, but everyone's just going to have to watch convention to find out.

Rubi Leguizamon: Right? I know we, we cannot wait, we are all so excited.

doTERRA: Now, like you said, it's this incredible week of education and we learn so much and were presented with this research and information. Sometimes it can maybe feel a little bit overwhelming as we're trying to take it all in. What are your top tips for getting the most out of convention?

Rubi’s Tips

Rubi Leguizamon: Right. You know, convention is, I would say, the number one way to motivate yourself and your teams. And so one of the things that I can think about off the top of my head is come with an open mind, ready to learn from a lot of amazing speakers and ready to take a lot of notes. Wouldn't you agree?

doTERRA: Yes, absolutely.

Rubi Leguizamon: But that's probably the you know, the biggest thing that that I can think of, but also find opportunities to network with people outside of your team or people that, people that you don't know. Convention gives you that space and that time to be able to do that as well. To add to that, I would say make sure to explore the doTERRA experience. I'm so excited for this. In this big space, you'll get to experience every oil, you get to dive into what we call the lab, where you can help us choose what product we will create next. doTERRA: Yes! Rubi, I love all of those tips and everyone can trust you because like we said, you've been to 11 conventions, you are a seasoned pro at convention.

Rubi Leguizamon: You know, I've seen, this event like I said, it just gets better and better every year. It gets bigger and better, you know, and and we have, like I said, a new products coming out where we're thinking outside of the box, we're thinking bigger and better. And so, again, you know, the future looks bright for doTERRA and we're going to, through our essential oils and our new products coming out, continue to impact the lives of people on this side of the bottle and the other side of the bottle. And so when you come to convention, you get to really see the heart of this company. So, I'm super happy.

doTERRA: I totally agree. Rubi, thank you so much for talking with us today, for sharing your love of convention and helping us get even more excited for what's to come.
