How to Clean Your Essential Oil Diffuser
Cleaning your diffuser is important for keeping it in tiptop shape. If left for too long, essential oils or leftover water can damage your diffuser. It’s best to rinse your diffuser and wipe it dry between uses. For a quick clean, you can diffuse Lemon essential oil, making it easier to clean out any residue from past uses when you wipe it clean.
How to Deep Clean Your Ultrasonic Diffuser
At least once a month, you should deep clean your essential oil diffusers.
- If your diffuser is running, turn it off and drain any water or essential oil.
- Fill the water reservoir halfway to the line with clean water.
- Add 10 drops—a little less than an eighth of a teaspoon—of pure white vinegar to the water reservoir and turn on your diffuser.
- After your diffuser has been running with the water and vinegar for about three to five minutes, turn it off and empty the contents.
- Dip a cotton swab in white vinegar and wipe down the edges of the water reservoir, as well as the ultrasonic mist chip.
- Rinse the water reservoir with clean water, wipe it out with a dry cloth, then let it air-dry completely before using it again.
