dōTERRA Lends Support to Mr. Inspiration Pageant in Orem, Ut

TURN Community Services hosts the Mr. Inspiration pageant to showcase the abilities and accomplishments of disabled community members.

Along with other local businesses in Utah County, doTERRA International recently supported the Mr. Inspiration pageant held by TURN Community Services, an organization that offers programs to people with disabilities in Utah. The Mr. Inspiration pageant is an opportunity for men with disabilities to showcase their interests, talents, and inspiring stories, as their friends and family cheer them on. Each contestant competes in hopes of being named “Mr. Inspiration” for their inspiring accomplishments, courage, and spirit.

In 2015, TURN held the Miss Inspiration pageant, where disabled women from the community participated to celebrate their abilities and garner support for TURN. This year’s pageant featured male contestants from all walks of life with varying abilities, but all contestants exuded an excitement for life—eager to participate in the pageant. Each participant had a personal sponsor from the community who was responsible for assisting the contestant with designing their own platform for the pageant, finding formal wear, and other tasks relating to the big day.

While the Mr. Inspiration pageant is an uplifting event that brings joy to those with disabilities, inspiration is never in short supply for the TURN organization. TURN has been in operation since 1973, when a group of parents came together to find a solution to the lack of services and programs for their adult children struggling to live with disabilities. Since that time, TURN has become a staple in the state of Utah, as they offer group homes, community programs, employment support, counseling, and more for disabled adults.

The work of the TURN organization has helped countless disabled adults gain independence, as they move out of state institutions and receive individualized services. TURN is now a statewide provider for adults with disabilities, and offers meaningful programs that support individuals and families across the state of Utah.

From talented bowlers, to artists, and even triathlon participants, the Mr. Inspiration pageant highlighted the unbelievable accomplishments of each man who participated. doTERRA was overjoyed to contribute to a truly inspiring event, providing prizes for pageant contestants. As each contestant took the stage, they heard the crowd cheer for their ability and perseverance—enjoying a once in a lifetime experience that many take for granted.
